Volunteer with Career Services
Help a Forester! There are numerous opportunities to connect with and assist current students. If you are interested in any of the below volunteer opportunities, please fill out a complete volunteer application and a staff member will contact you. Contact Alina Allen with any questions.
- The Mentor Program (November – April, Any Location): The Mentor Program is a great way to form a relationship with a current student. Mentors and mentees are matched for a one-year-long relationship based on career and personal interests as well as program expectations. If you are interested, please fill out the complete volunteer application where you can indicate your mentee preferences.
- Speed Networking (February, On-Campus): Modeled after speed dating, participants are computer matched based on career interests and personal preferences. A wonderful opportunity to touch the lives of twenty students in one afternoon and help affirm the power of first-impressions while providing a safe space for students to develop their networking skills. Please fill out the volunteer application or contact Alina Allen if you are interested in participating.
- Follow a Forester (Pilot) Program (Anytime during the academic year, Any Location/Chicagoland preferred): New this year! Host a student for a one day shadowing opportunity at your workplace. For FAQ's and planning tips, download the Host Handbook (coming soon!). And, to post an opportunity, fill out the host application. You will be contacted by the Career Advancement Center when a student has been selected to shadow you.
- Hire a Forester: The easiest and fastest way to let students know about job and internship openings at your company is to visit our Online Career Center (part of the NACE network) and post available opportunities. Please note this is a password protected site. Employers must complete a free registration process before gaining access. Call (847) 735-5235 for assistance.
- Additional Opportunities such as speaking on campus, participating in mock interviews, or attending the Senior Etiquette Dinner will be communicated to those who fill out the volunteer application.
